A joyous musical odyssey around Cumbria

A multimedia song cycle featuring live / Zoom choir

intercut with stunning previously unseen aerial footage of the Lake District.

An innovative new way of capitalising on the limitations of online music in lockdown, Trip to the Lakes is a multimedia performance like no other, using live performance, video and a virtual choir to take you on a musical odyssey through the glory of the Lake District in Cumbria, UK. Available for performances in 2021.

Featuring…

  • LIVE performances from members of The Coast Road (Dave Camlin, Catherine Reding and Paul Susans) plus a small, socially-distanced choir

  • Previously unseen, stunning drone footage from 2018’s Fellowship project

  • Excerpts from Terry Abrahams’ epic Blencathra film

  • New songs developed for the show, including this arrangement of a poem by Jan Rumsey, inspired by an ‘Off The Grid’ singing session at Ashness Bridge in Borrowdale in 2019:

Trip to the Lakes is realised in partnership with Kirkgate Arts Centre and the National Trust, supported by funds from Arts Council England. It was premiered on Kirkgate Arts’ Youtube channel in December 2020. If you missed the premiere, you can still watch the performance from the Kirkgate’s Youtube channel.
