Reviving a Cumbrian Tradition…
A celebration of everyday creativity and the turning year, hosted by Dave Camlin with Sing Owt! and Wild Chorus community choirs, inspired by the traditional Cumbrian Merry Neet. Merry Neets are lively and inclusive community gatherings where everyone who wants to can showcase their creativity, and where everyone comes away feeling uplifted with community spirit!
Each Merry Neet has a theme, often inspired by an international day of celebration or the turning of the seasons. Join us as performers or audience to share songs, stories, poems, dances, jokes or anything else you fancy around the chosen theme. Express your creative side, or simply share in the creative spirit!
Our Next Merry Neet is on
Saturday November 16th 2024
19:00 - 21:00
Threlkeld Village Hall
The theme for this special fund-raising evening is ‘Go Wild!’ and we have a whole host of performers lined up to share a song, poem or other creative offering on that theme, including our resident choir.
All profits from the evening will be donated to Cumbria Wildlife Trust’s ambitious new re-wilding project for the ‘Back o’Skiddaw’, the Skiddaw Forest project.
A very welcoming and safe environment to explore your creativity, and enjoy the talents of the community. Floor spots available for your creative offerings. Everyone is welcome to contribute if they want to, with a song, poem, joke, dance, story, or other party trick that you think expresses something on the chosen theme. Be creative! If you'd like to perform, just drop Dave / Angie a line lakes@mouthfulway.co.uk.
